Meet the Team
President & CEO
Steve Jeffery is a veteran of the technology industry with 33 years of experience gained in Europe and North America. His career includes positions at global multinationals including Hewlett Packard and IBM. In 1994 Steve relocated from the Silicon Valley to Georgia where he built two start-up organizations, SQL Financials and Clarus Corporation taking each public in 1998 and 2001.
Steve has held a variety of executive management positions in software and hardware companies, including CEO, Chairman, and General Manager as well as executive positions in Sales and Marketing. This wide range of experience has enabled him grow early stage companies to success. Steve has also been very successful in working with the venture capital and public markets to raise equity.
Steve’s experience includes driving strategic acquisitions and the successful divestiture of a number of business units. He is a former president of TAG, one of the nation’s largest statewide technology associations, and holds several Board positions. Steve holds an honors Bachelor degree in Business from Sheffield Hallam University in the U.K.
Founder & Chief Strategy Officer
Amir is a technology entrepreneur who has successfully created and nurtured four start-ups, raised over $50M in venture capital and completed 7 M&A transactions in the last 20 years.
Amir founded Brickstream in 2000 and returned in 2014 as Chief Strategy Officer of NOMi. In the interim, Amir was Founder & CEO of Naaya (game-based education for K-5), CEO of Apptix (SaaS messaging and collaboration for SMBs), and the Founder and CEO of Entevo (sold to Bindview).
Amir holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Georgia Tech and a B.E. in Computer Engineering from PICT, University of Pune, India. He was born in Mumbai, India and currently lives in Washington, DC.
Chief Financial Officer
Jeff Babka has over 40 years of experience in financial and operational management of public and private companies, with a specific focus in the technology, software and telecommunications sectors. Prior to Nomi, Jeff led a highly successful IPO on the New York Stock Exchange and sales of both a private UK company and a private US company that were dual tracking an IPO and sale process.
Most recently, Jeff was CFO of Applied Predictive Technologies, the world’s largest purely cloud-based predictive analytics software company. APT was acquired by MasterCard in May 2015 in a transaction that valued the company at $600 million. Prior to that, Jeff was CFO/COO of Vibrant Media, a world leader in contextual technology aligning billions of words across the Internet with relevant video, information, tools, and advertising.
Jeff has held other CFO positions including CFO of Sophos, a global IT Security company based in Oxford, UK. and of NeuStar, Inc., where he led NeuStar’s efforts in support of its $700 million Initial Public Offering and listing on the New York Stock Exchange on June 29, 2005. NeuStar was awarded “2005 IPO of the Year” by International Financing Review and Renaissance Capital.
Jeff’s career includes a wide variety of financial and operational management and executive positions, including a long tenure at AT&T, Lucent Technologies, and Concert. Jeff is a Magna cum Laude graduate of the University of Dayton, and obtained his MBA from Manhattan College. He is a graduate of the Stanford University Executive Program, and obtained CPA certification in Ohio in 1974.
Chief Technology Officer
Ralph Crabtree has 25 years of experience in the definition, implementation, and delivery of high-tech software products. Ralph was the primary creator of the enabling technology and software products on which Brickstream was founded. Prior to Brickstream, he held various advanced research and development positions at NCR Corporation.
For the past 15 years, Ralph has focused on the application of image-understanding technologies to commercial solutions that include people tracking, video surveillance, and document recognition. Crabtree is the co-inventor of ten patents. He received a B.S degree from Furman University.
SVP Sales and Marketing
Steve has been involved in the technology, service and capital market business sectors for the past 25 years. His career includes executive and management positions at PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Oracle, SQL Financials, Clarus, Pareto Principals, and Brickstream/Nomi. As a strategic executive leader in SQL Financials and subsequently Clarus Corporation, Steve was involved in the process of taking both companies public. His management experience includes global sales, business development, marketing, alliances and acquisitions. Additionally, he has significant experience in the areas of capital raises, cash management, forecasting and operational growth of fast growing and start-up companies. Steve holds a Bachelor degree in Engineering and a Masters Degree in Business from Virginia Tech.
As Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, he is responsible for sales, business development, channel partner development, direct major account sales and marketing for Nomi.
SVP, Global Channel Sales
A seasoned senior sales and business development executive, Todd has over 15 years of experience building and managing profitable international direct sales and channel sales organizations for industry leading software companies including Clarus Corporation and Roadnet Technologies. Having lived and worked in both Europe and Asia, Todd has successfully established and staffed subsidiary companies responsible for sales, customer service and technical support and has a demonstrated track record of developing strategic alliances with global and regional resellers and system integrators that generate sustained software and services revenue and profit growth in international markets.
Todd began his career in management consulting having worked at both Deloitte & Touche and Accenture. He has a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
Vice President Sales Engineering
As a member of a large corporate research and development facility, Iain began working with Brickstream’s technology prototype in 1996. He has been with Brickstream since its inception and has been a significant contributor to its growth.
As head of Value Development, Iain is responsible for helping the company’s customers realize maximum benefit from the behavior intelligence they are capturing using Nomi technology.
Iain has 23 years experience in software development and professional services in the high-tech industry across Europe and North America. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree with Honors in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Tayside University in the United Kingdom.
Vice President Customer Success
Adam has been intimately involved in the in-store analytics market for nearly 15 years. After being exposed to video-based tracking systems while at NCR Corporation, he was hired by Brickstream Corporation shortly after its inception. During his tenure at Brickstream, Adam played an integral role in the company’s growth while serving in leadership positions in Professional Services, Operations, and Sales before his current role leading Nomi’s Customer Success Organization.
As Vice President of Customer Success, Adam leads the teams responsible for planning, executing, and supporting the successful realization of the Nomi platform and its related services while proactively ensuring that customer goals are achieved. Adam holds a B.S. in Computer Science with honors from Georgia Tech and an M.B.A. in Management from Georgia State University’s Robinson College of Business.
